Cologne, 9th of November 2023 – The cologne-based consultancy IR.on AG is consistently expanding its "Sustainability & ESG" business unit. The team, which now consists of six members, is currently advising its clients, especially regarding the upcoming reporting requirements according to CSRD and EU taxonomy.
Since 2021, IR.on AG has been advising its clients on sustainability and ESG matters in addition to the main consulting fields of investor relations and financial communications. Alongside Anna-Lena Mayer, the head of the "Sustainability & ESG" business unit, and Michael Werner, the team's strategic advisor, IR.on AG has been able to recruit four additional consultants for its ESG consulting business over the past two years.
The company is responding to the increasing demand for ESG services from its clients in the capital market-oriented SME sector. The focus of the service portfolio in the newly created business unit is on the four areas of strategy development, corporate governance, reporting & communication and ESG ratings.
"With our 'hands-on' approach, we are increasingly supporting medium-sized companies outside of the capital market, which are also facing major challenges. This is due to the fact that the new regulatory framework significantly expands the group of companies subject to reporting requirements.”, says Anna-Lena Mayer.
Recent projects carried out by the team of consultants are the second sustainability reports of the SSI SCHÄFER Group and the Homann Holzwerkstoffe Group. Both clients were previously supported in the development of the sustainability strategy and the preparation of the first sustainability report. Furthermore, the consultants are currently supporting the first clients in performing the materiality analysis in accordance with the new requirements under ESRS and the further preparation of the sustainability reporting in accordance with the CSRD.
