KWS SAAT: Strategic preparation for a successful Capital Markets Day

How targeted stakeholder surveys and professional communications consulting made the SDAX company's first Capital Markets Day a success.

The first Capital Markets Day of a listed company is a decisive milestone in capital market communications. For KWS Saat SE & Co. KGaA, a leading seed specialist and member of the SDAX, iron accompanied the process – from strategic preparation and a targeted perception study to the successful execution of the Capital Markets Day in November 2025.

Perception Study provides valuable insights

Before a Capital Markets Day can have its full effect, it must be clear where the company stands. The perceptions of investors, analysts, and other stakeholders can provide important starting points. Together with KWS, iron therefore conducted a structured perception study to accurately assess the initial situation.

In confidential discussions with investors and analysts, iron consultants systematically identified how KWS is perceived by the capital market, which areas for improvement are seen, and how expectation management and communication could be made even more target group oriented. These findings formed the strategic basis for the preparation of the Capital Markets Day.

From strategy to implementation: Professional support at all levels

Using the insights from the perception study, we worked with the KWS team to develop a customized concept for the Capital Markets Day. Our focus was on specifically addressing the identified expectations of the financial community while effectively complementing the company's existing equity story.

We supported KWS in defining its content strategy and developing compelling core messages. The challenge was to present complex topics relating to plant breeding, innovation, and sustainability in a focused equity story that was consistent with the company's strategy. At the same time, we developed a communication concept that effectively conveys the messages across all relevant channels.

From the initial concept to the day of the event, we provided support with key communication and planning aspects: project schedule, event program, invitation management, material creation, press relations, and close coordination with internal and external partners.
