The sustainability and ESG team of iron has supported the SSI SCHAEFER Group, a leading global provider of solutions for all areas of intralogistics, in preparing its fourth voluntary sustainability report.
SSI SCHAEFER and iron have been working together successfully in the area of sustainability and ESG for five years now. A sustainability strategy was jointly developed in 2021, followed in 2024 by the conduction of a materiality assessment in accordance with the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS). For the current sustainability report, now the fourth, with reference to the international GRI standards, iron was responsible for the conception and editing of the report as well as the overall coordination.
Through its consistent reporting activities, the SSI SCHAEFER Group demonstrates its ongoing development regarding sustainability. The current report provides insights into strategic objectives and concrete measures, ranging from the implementation of regulatory requirements to voluntary initiatives. Despite an increasingly challenging regulatory environment, the company made further progress in 2024: CO₂ emissions reporting was expanded from 22 to 57 companies, reporting was supplemented by four additional scope 3 categories compared to the previous year and a climate risk analysis was carried out for the first time.
The results of the 2025 EcoVadis rating also show that this commitment is paying off: SSI SCHAEFER was awarded silver, placing it among the top 15% of companies rated. This is a strong signal and visible proof of the company's consistent pursuit of sustainability.
